TCDW's Executive Committee

 

President: Meren Gadman

Meren Gadman is a lifelong Washingtonian. She has been a Licensed Dispensing Optician for 40 years in Washington state, American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners. She has served on the Port of Olympia Citizens Advisory Committee, Thurston County Democrats Executive Board fundraising chair, has done fundraising for various non-profits, is currently a Democratic PCO for Lacey 317, Leadership Thurston County class of 2023. Meren is currently the President of Thurston County Democratic Women. She has been married to Jeff Gadman, Thurston County Treasurer for 43 years. They have two sons and daughters in law and six grandchildren. 

 

 

Vice President: Debby Pattin

Debby Pattin is a retired public school librarian and teacher. Long active in labor issues, she is a member of the WA Education Association - Retired, and is active in the WA State Democrats Labor Caucus. She has been involved in Democratic politics for over 50 years, starting with the McGovern campaign in 1972, and served as a national delegate for Obama in 2008. Debby and her husband Bob, a retired longshoreman, have two grown children and three little grandsons.

 

 

 

Immediate Past President: Susan Herring

Susan has dedicated her life to the Democratic Party and Women’s rights. She has served on various political campaigns and committees as a State Committee Representative, Precinct Committee Officer, Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and advisor at local, state and federal levels. She is currently the 1st Vice Chair of Washington Federation of Democratic Women, Past President of Thurston County Democratic Women and Vice Chair of Endorsement Committee for Thurston County Democratic Women. Susan lives in Olympia and volunteers with many non-profit organizations as well as enjoys time with family, friends and takes in as many Mariner baseball games as possible.

 

Secretary: Pam Lovinger

Pam Lovinger is the new 2023 TCDW Board Secretary.  Born in Seattle, she has lived and voted in Olympia since 1991. She graduated from The Evergreen State College's Master in Public Administration program in 1996. She retired from state service after spending spending most of her career working in public health. When not supporting Democrats, she spends her time with friends and family as well as traveling, reading and gardening. She lives in West Olympia with her husband, Marty, and an adorable cat named Monkey.  

 

 

Treasurer: Danielle Westbrook

Danielle has been involved in Thurston County politics for 21 years. She's pushing 100 campaigns this year. Shout out to Susan Herring for being one of her first mentors! She and Katrina Wynkoop Simmons taught her how to be a good treasurer. She's previously served as TCDW treasurer and is always ready to step up as #1 grunt - that's her favorite role. She's also previously served on the Thurston County Democrats e-board and numerous other boards. Her passions are her child, Jesika, and her music. She's a trumpet player, singer, and entertainer and loves performing in pit orchestras with Jesika (an amazing bass player) down in Portland, Oregon. She lives in the Upper Eastside with her partner, Rich, her magical unicorn, 7-year old Josephine, two cats and two dogs.
